In the 1950’s, America’s marketers increased their reliance on direct mail, but the technology was lacking. Jack Joss embraced the challenge, and with his eyes to the future he founded Northwest Mailing Service. Thanks to his insatiable quest for mechanical innovation, Jack quickly made his mark as a leader in automation. Northwest soon became the go-to company for direct marketers of all sizes.
Staying true to their father’s vision, Jack’s sons continued to expand the company’s capabilities through investments in state-of-the-art machinery and unique process innovations.
With an infusion of capital from Kirtland Capital Partners, the Joss brothers remained focused on fulfilling their father’s legacy, broadening the Company’s capabilities to include more integrated direct marketing services. In 2010, under the leadership of CEO Tom Ragen, the Company acquired Metrics Marketing Group. Metrics Marketing's data analytics and interactive service capabilities added instant synergy to Northwest’s core direct mail business. Today, both companies operate under the Precision Dialogue umbrella - a brand personifying a more expansive and progressive 1:1 marketing platform.
